GO ROCKETS!
Great State!
Fast times from all, Davis takes 2nd!
The Rockets finished off another
great season of swimming and diving at the 2006 State Championship Meet at
the Bob Devaney Sports Center!
Macie McIntosh and Jennifer Marshall
started the meet off right with fantastic diving! Jen finished in
21st, and Macie cracked the top 10 as a freshman, finishing 9th
overall! Way to go ladies!
On the boys swimming side, the boys had
nice swims in the Medley (Matt Pedersen, Kyle Bachman, Steve Hatfield, and
Evan Meyer) and 400 free relays (Evan Meyer, Kyle Bachman, Tim Traudt, and
Matt Pedersen). Plus Matt Pedersen had a good swim in his first
individual state swimming event, the 100 back! Great job boys!
For the girls, the Medley relay (Shelbie
Scharf, Jaime Pella, Katie Davis, and Brianna Nelsen) swam their fastest
time of the season in prelims, then finished 9th overall in finals!
The 200 free relay (Shelbie Scharf, Anna Haxby, Brita Higgins, and Kelli
Linke) posted the fastest swim of the year, and cracked the Northeast Top
10 list! The 400 Free Relay (Brianna Nelsen, Shelbie Scharf, Kelli
Linke, and Katie Davis), also swam fast in just missing finals!
Individually for the girls, Jaime Pella
neared her seasons best swim in the 100 Breast, and Brianna Nelsen did the
same in her 200 IM before going 5:38 in the 500 free and finishing
16th! Katie Davis broke the 200 IM record in prelims, then again in
finals while finishing 5th in that event. Katie also went an All
American Consideration time in the 100 backstroke, and finished 2nd in
that event! Way to go ladies!!!

HAC Meet Success!
Rockets finish 3rd, 6th with BIG
events!
The Northeast Rocket Girls finished
3rd in the Conference meet! Katie Davis broke the school record in
the 200 IM on her way to a runner up finish, then proceeded to win the 100
back! Brianna Nelsen, Anna Smith, Macie McIntosh, and the girls
relays also finished top 6!
The Rocket boys finished 6th with a late
run to beat Fremont! The boys were lead by Matt Pedersen in the 100
back, who qualified for state, as well as top finishes in B finals by Evan
Meyer, Brandon Schappaugh, and others. The boys 400 Free Relay
finished 3rd with outstanding swims by Kyle Bachman, John Morris, Tim
Traudt, and Josh Hayes!
Great meet Rockets!
LNE Falls to East
Rockets compete hard against top 5 foe
Northeast dropped the last dual
meet of the season to the East Spartans but still put up a fight.
The Spartans depth helped them pull away to a comfortable lead and
win. The Rockets had athletes with season best performances, and are
looking forward to a rematch at the Heartland Conference Meet!
What a Trip!
LNE Continues to Improve at Columbus
The Rockets added MORE state
qualifiers to the already long list of athletes! Make sure to look
for new names: Anna Haxby, Anna Smith, and Josh Hayes on the qualifiers
list! Both boys and girls teams took early leads and never looked
back on their way to big victories! Keep it up Northeast!
Hold those Tigers!
Northeast Boys and Girls both Win!
Northeast finished off the final
home meet of the season with to resounding victories of the Tigers of
Fremont. The meet began with fantastic diving as Macie McIntosh and
Jennifer Marshall both qualified for state! Congrats, Rockets!
UPSET!
Rocket Boys Sneak by Gators in Big Win!
The Rocket boys used big swims in
the 200 IM and 100 Back to upset North Star! The Gators, loaded with
talent nearly won the Cotter Invite the week before, and had beaten
Northeast soundly in that meet. In addition, the girls continued
their season dominance with big win as well! Great work Rockets!
Nipped by Knights
LNE Drops 2 Close Meets to LSE
The Rockets kept it close the
entire meet, only to fall short late in the contest. The girls
maintained a 1 point deficit until the final relay, and the boys rallied
in the final 3 events to come close. Great swims throughout the meet
on both sides, including season bests in the IM, 200 free, 500, back, and
breast events! Plus Katie Davis broke the pool record in the 100
backstroke! Way to go Northeast!
Cotter Champs!
Girls win title in team effort!
The Rocket girls won 4 of the 12
events, and finished in the top three 4 other times to win the 2006 Cotter
Invite at Lincoln High! Katie Davis set a new meet record in the 200
IM, and the 200 Medley relay broke the meet record in finishing second to
Kearney! The boys saw great, competitive swims throughout the
afternoon, concluding with the fastest 400 free relay of the season!
Congrats Northeast!
LNE Wins 2 From GI!
Girls Meet Decided on Final Event
Northeast was host to the Islanders
in a close dual meet that came down to the wire for the girls! Lead
by strong diving, the Rocket boys took the lead from the very beginning
and never looked back, while the girls fought from behind to steal the
victory as the meet ended! Great work Rockets!
Boys Beat Knights!
Depth at Ralston Relays Pays Dividends
The Rockets defeated the Southeast
Knights for the first time in history at the Ralston Relays! Success
on the final 8x50 relay and the diving relay put the Rockets over the
top! Congrats Rockets!
LNE Splits Roadtrip
Girls sweep, Boys fall to
Hastings/Elkhorn
The Rockets faced their first
double dual of the season against the Hastings Tigers, and the newest team
in Nebraska, the Elkhorn Antlers. Elkhorn is formerly consolidated
with defending State Champion Westside. The Rockets battled through
the longest road trip of the year (from noon until nearly 10:00 PM), and
had dozens of best times! Great work Northeast!
LSW Sweeps LNE
Team drops close meets, by split
seconds
The Rockets nearly pulled off the
double upset of the season versus a VERY talented Silverhawks team!
Several races went down to the wire, and Northeast lead much of the
way. Southwest pulled away in the final races to win each meet by
10-15 points. Great efforts Northeast!
Knight Invite Champ!
Davis Wins Back, Rockets Look Great!
The Rockets posted season best
times at the LSE Knight Invitational, which features the nearly all of the
top competition in the State! The meet was capped by Katie Davis'
100 backstroke victory, and several teammates state qualifying
times! Nice work LNE!
Rockets Take TWO!
Boys and Girls defeat Links at LHS!
The Northeast girls and boys swept
all 6 relays en route to a double victory! The boys never looked
back from the first event on, while the girls won the meet from the
talented Links on the final event of the evening! WAY TO GO
NORTHEAST!
New High at Relays!
Record Point Total at Ralston Meet!
The Northeast girls scored 130
points--two more than last year--to set a new school standard at the Relay
Invitational! The team finished 9th with the help of the diving,
backstroke, breaststroke, and 8x50 relays! Great work ladies!
LNE Splits Beatrice
Rocket Girls Win, Boys Lose Close Meet
The Rockets began the regular
season swimming FAST, and qualified several athletes for state in the
first meet of the year! The Girls team won in dominating fashion,
losing only a few events. The boys nearly pulled off the upset
falling just 10 points short! Great work team!
