Counseling Center Announcements for the Week of APRIL 24th:
9th graders and ALL students who have applied for Summer School are reminded to turn in Summer School paperwork to the counseling center ASAP!
SENIORS must attend a mandatory meeting in the LNE Media Center to complete Scholarship information as well as requesting a final transcript for colleges. This meeting is required for graduation. Choose one meeting time Period 6, 7, or After School TODAY this week. You will report directly to the Media Center.
Summer School Registration for Juniors this week - Make an appointment in the Counseling Center. Sophomores & Freshmen Registration appointments begin May 1st.
Seniors planning to attend SCC next year - SCC Admissions, Financial Aid, and Accuplacer Testing will be at LNE TODAY. Sign up in the Counseling Center to attend!
The Registration Deadline for the June 10th ACT Test is Friday, May 5th. Fee waivers are available from your LNE Counselor.
Students taking the AP exam, please attend a pre-administration session. Friday @ 7:30 am in Rm 200B.
NHS is hosting a dodgeball tournament on Friday, May 5 at 6:00 pm. Co-ed teams must consist of 5-7 members with at least 2 girls playing at all times. Each player must pay a $5.00 entry fee due at the time of the tournament. Sign up sheet for teams is outside Room 112, and all teams must be signed up by Tuesday, May 2. See Annika Kuchar or Austin Gronewold for any questions.
Save the date: An evening of One Act Plays: Joe White and the Seven Lizards, L’il Red in the Hood, & Finn McCool. TONIGHT & TOMORROW April 27th & 28th @ 7:30 pm in the Drama Center. $4.00 for Adults & high school students, Elementary students $1.00. If you have an activity pass its Free.
The Rocket Food Market will be open TODAY. It is open to all LNE Students & Families, and is free. The Rocket Food Market is located in the Cafeteria, and is open from 3:00-3:30 p.m. Reminder – Food Market items must be taken home for your family’s use. Food is not to be consumed on school grounds Please keep our School Grounds and school building free of Food Market Litter.
If you missed the deadline to apply to be a Rocket Crew Leader it has been extended until TOMORROW. You must be a current sophomore or junior to apply. Pick up your application in the Main Office and return it to the Main Office or one of the Rocket Crew Coordinators or if you have questions see one of the Coordinators: Mrs. Tomes, Mr. Manley, Mr. Reda, Mrs. Davis-Yoakum, Mr. Reda, or Mrs. Perry.
Freshmen and Sophomores: First Annual Student Scholarship Essay Contest - $5,000 to be given away. Enter for the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship and a selection of Penguin Classics Deluxe Editions for Northeast High School simply by writing an essay on "Lord of the Flies". Talk to your teacher and get the information to enter...you could win a scholarship. Contest deadline is TOMORROW.
The joint effort of LPS and the Food Bank's BackPack Extra Mile Walk is THIS Saturday! Please join fellow LNE staff and students as we walk in support of the BackPack program. WHO: Anyone wanting to support the BackPack program! WHAT: a one-mile walk on paved surfaces WHEN: April 29, 2017 at 10am WHERE: East High School South Gymnasium EXTRAS: there will be free coffee, juice, milk, water, ample parking, and restrooms. Feel free to bring nonperishable food items to donate to the Food Bank and any new/gently-used gender neutral backpacks. If you have a BackPack Extra Mile Walk t-shirt (either this years or a previous year), please wear it on Friday, April 28th!
