Areas of EXCEL

WORK EXPERIENCE School credit for students holding paid jobs outside of school
PORTFOLIOS On-going collection of the student's/teacher's best work, skills and accomplishments, activities and participation, goals and plans for the future.
JOB SHADOWS Students interviewing and observing people in their day-to-day job situation in a career area that interests the student
ADVANCE CAREER PLANNING an extended look at a career(s) of interest to the student, including research on education and training needed, places of post-secondary education offering the appropriate programs, a job availability in Nebraska.
INTERNSHIPS A group of students with a common career interest exploring said area by visiting with local business people and post-seconary educators working in the area. Several field trips and/or speakers will be used during the course of the internship. Example: Law, Travel, and Boy Scout explorer groups.

• Welcomes and encourages students to access the EXCEL center periods 1-7
