IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SENIORS

For a list of Photographers who have agreed to provide pictures that preferred specifications for senior photos for use in the year book can be picked up at the LNE office.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR FURNISHING SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHS FOR YEARBOOK USESPECIFICATIONS: The specifications below define the type of senior photo preferred by Lincoln Public Schools for use in yearbooks.

1. Size - The overall size of the print is to be approximately 2” x 3”, or standard wallet size.  The head size shall not vary more     than 1/8” from a standard length of 1 ½” from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head, ¼” from top of hair to top of     print area.
2. Head Line – The head line shall stand out distinctly from the background.
3. Background – The background shall be a medium neutral tone; brown, blue or gray.
4. Tone – Faces must stand out from the background and have sufficient contrast to avoid a flat, faint or shallow appearance.
5. Lighting – Faces must be uniformly and evenly lit without heavy black shadows, squinting or over/under exposure.  No soft     focus or diffusion shall be used.
6. Poses – Students shall be conservatively posed, preferably full front or slightly to the side.  Avoid extreme angles, profile     views or having the student gazing into space.  A picture which shows part of the back of the shoulder will not be accepted.      Only head and shoulder shots will be accepted.

INSTRUCTIONS CONCERNING WEARING APPAREL
Girls: Sleeved blouses, sweaters or dresses that reach the neckline; no words or symbols on clothing. Minimal jewelry (small necklaces and earrings).  NO HATS.
Boys:  Suits or sport coats with long neckties or bow ties; sport shirts with top button open; turtlenecks, v-neck sweaters with shirts.  No words or symbols on clothing.
Minimal jewelry only.  NO HATS.

INSTRUCTIONS SPECIFIC TO NORTHEAST DRESS CODE:
• Gang related symbols worn, written, carried, displayed or communicated will not be tolerated and are not allowed to be worn.
• Headbands used for holding back the hair are acceptable.
• All shirts/tops must have two inch or wider straps on both shoulders.
• Low cut shirts are not acceptable.
• Halter-tops may be worn if a student is wearing a blouse or shirt over the halter-top.
• Any and all clothing considered lewd, obscene, profane, vulgar, offensive, demeaning, or violates LPS Responsibilities of   Students (Section II, K and O) is prohibited.
• Clothing or jewelry that promotes or otherwise condones the possession or consumption of beer, tobacco, alcohol, or illegal    drugs or otherwise implicitly endorses illicit behaviors is prohibited.
•  Consideration will be made for students who wear special clothing as required by religious affiliation.
