This is an exciting time of year for the Northeast Class of 2021. Below you will find important information to help you plan as you complete your senior year:

Senior Meeting

The senior graduation meeting will be held in the Northeast Performing Arts Theatre on Wednesday, May 19 at 12:00 p.m. after the 5th period final is finished. Seniors who will be participating in the commencement ceremony need to attend this meeting.

Cap and Gown

If your cap and gown is to be delivered to school, it can be picked up after the senior meeting on May 19.

Commencement Ceremony

The Northeast High School 2021 Commencement Ceremony will be held at Pinnacle Bank Arena at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 29. Seniors need to arrive at Pinnacle Bank Arena between 11:30 and11:45 a.m. Cap and gown are required to be worn with appropriate dress clothing.

Tickets

Lincoln Public Schools has worked with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department and Pinnacle Bank Arena to update graduation attendance in light of the recent changes to the Directed Health Measure. Tickets will no longer be needed to attend graduation and admission will be general seating. It will be first come, first serve up to 75% capacity. Spectators attending the ceremony will still be required to wear face masks while inside PBA and groups are encouraged to practice physical distancing as much as possible. The ceremony will also be livestreamed. Families and graduates will use the parking garages next to the arena and will be charged for parking.

THIS CEREMONY is a formal event and your behavior should be appropriate for the occasion. Graduates that create disruptions will have their diplomas held at school until a meeting with the principal can be arranged.

Photos

High quality photos of graduating seniors will be taken by Lifetouch. All pictures may be viewed online at . Families will not be allowed on the arena floor or near the stage to take pictures.

Fines

Students who have unpaid fines will not receive their diploma at the ceremony, it will be held at school until fines are paid. If you owe fines, a current list is included in this letter. Please return books and materials to the teacher who issued them or pay fines to Mrs. VanEngen in room 102. Fines include Chromebook loss or damage (Chromebook damages may be assessed after graduation by District Computing Services), textbooks, items checked out from the Media Center, project bills, ID fines, PE locks, parking fines, elevator keys, activity equipment and athletic equipment. FINES MUST BE CLEARED BY 3:00 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 19.

Academic Work

All classwork needs to be completed and turned in and the green Senior Information Card/Final Transcript request needs to be completed through the Counseling Center.

Senior Honors Program

The Senior Honors Program is scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Ed Johnson Gymnasium on the north end of Northeast High School.

Senior Breakfast

A free breakfast for seniors only will be held on Friday, May 14 at 8:00 a.m. in the Northeast Cafeteria.

**Immunization records will be included with the senior information packet that seniors will pick up with their diploma; Lincoln Public Schools does not store these records for future reference.
