The Rocket Messenger

March 2024

Principal's Message

We have had a great start to the second semester and look forward to another busy month!

March News and Notes

As the end of the quarter 3 draws near, please encourage your Child to reach out to her/his teacher should they have any questions about assignments, missing work, etc. It is important for them to advocate and receive any support they may need as we near the last quarter of this school year. Remember that Rocket House, our after school academic support program, is available after school in the Library. Rocket House is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Focus: LNE continues to have a focus on Instruction, Culture for Learning and Equity. R.I.S.E. Respect, Inclusive, Safe and Engaged

Research shows that re-teaching and reviewing school-wide/classroom expectations creates predictable adult behavior across all settings, providing students with a sense of security. Providing this structure reduces stress and reminds students that it is “business as usual.” This decreases the likelihood of problem behavior.

School Improvement Focus

Our continued areas of focus for the 2023-2024 school year continues to be: Effective Instruction, Culture for Learning and Equity. (See visual below). Our Focus aligns nicely with the District Board Goals: *(That visual is also below.)

  • Increasing the graduation rate
  • Reduce suspensions
  • Reduce disproportionality among all students who have taken at least 1 honors course
  • Increase hiring staff from diverse backgrounds.

Honors Convocation

Lincoln Northeast’s Spring Honors Convocation will be held on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the North Gym. This ceremony is aimed at honoring our highest achieving, most dedicated students. This includes honor roll students, students who earned academic letters, academic pins and students who had perfect attendance. We look forward to recognizing our students!

Prom 23/24

Prom will be here before we know it. The dance will be held on April 13th from 8:00—11:00 p.m.

LNE Juniors and Seniors are invited and are allowed 1 guest/date per person. Students will register their guest/date with LNE when they purchase their tickets. Guests must be in high school or be under 21 to attend.

All fines and fees must be paid or a plan must be in place prior to ticket purchase. A fines/fees letter will be sent to students with outstanding fines/fees. We encourage all students and parents to check their student’s fines and fees through Parentvue prior to the week of ticket sales to ensure they have addressed any issues. If you need to make a payment plan, please call the Main Office and we will put you in touch with your student’s administrator. If you already have a fee waiver plan or previous payment plan in place and have no other fines or fees your student WILL be able to purchase a ticket.
